I think you can, instead of pinning on the outside, do it on the inside. =]

@ jonathansmith111, they’re not messed up. The “model” just has the leg twisted up. She didn’t straighten it out when she put them on. LOL

This is awesome! I do this all the time cause I can never find a good pair of skinny jeans that fit me well. Just a quick tip, if you can change the needle of the machine to a thick needle, do it. I forgot to do it once and half way through it broke and popped off, nearly hitting me in the eye. Idk just some food for thought.

Yay !! ^-^ Thank you I’m going to try this, even though I have no sewing skills xD I have a whole bunch of regular jeans I bought for like $5 each. And I know they would look awesome on me if I turned them into skinny jeans. (: Also I got some loose fitting skinny jeans which I would like to make tighter aswell Thank you!!

THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG! You don’t just taper from one side, you have to taper from both sides of the leg equally. The grainline on jeans runs evenly down the leg, otherwise it will twist to one side. Also, you have to actually do a hem (i.e. unpick it, taper the jean, then sew the hem back), otherwise you get an unsightly buldge and visible stitching on the bottom.. This is the laziest and dodgiest way of doing it… there are going to be a whole bunch of people walking around with twisted jeans!

@caitiejane3, all valid points, but I have a feeling this was directed more towards a beginner/no-fuss sewer.
